Diagnosis, price quotation
Upon taking delivery of your impaired media we perform an initial diagnosis to ascertain
its condition. When the diagnosis is finished, we provide you with a price quotation and
an explanation of the extent of the damage. It normally takes between one and three days
from the time we receive the media to the time we report the results of the
diagnosis.
There is no charge for the initial diagnosis or price quotation.
* Any delivery charges are for the customer’s account.
How to request service
Please use whichever of the following methods is more convenient.
- Use the Web form to request service then send the media to Advanced Design
- Bring the media directly to one of our offices
You may send the media to us after using the Web form to request service or you may bring it directly to one of our offices. If you send the media to us, we will email you to confirm receipt.
As far as possible, we will provide you with a list of recoverable files. (It may not be possible to provide a file list if there is physical failure.) Please feel free to contact us if there is anything you are uncertain about before requesting service.
Ordering (or cancelling)
Once we receive your order, we will begin working on recovering the data. If the price quoted does not suit your budget, you may cancel the order. Should you decide to cancel, we will return your media. There are no cancellation charges.
Recovery process
The recovery work is carried out in a workroom under the strictest security conditions. Your media is stored in a safe that is completely sealed off from the outside world in order to maintain the confidentiality of your data.
The amount of time required to complete the recovery work varies depending on the level of failure. Mild cases require 1–3 days, but severe cases may require 1–2 weeks. (An urgent service option is available. Please inquire for details.)
One of our service agents will contact you upon completion of the recovery work.
Delivery of recovered data
We will dispatch the recovered data to you on a DVD, external disk drive or other media. The data-recovery process is considered to have been completed once you check the data and confirm that there are no problems. Arrangements can also be made for you to collect the media containing the data at our head office.
After delivery of recovered data
Once you confirm that there are no problems with the recovered data, we will return the failed media containing the original data.
Advanced Design does not repair failed media, therefore we will return the media to you in the same condition that we received it (except in cases where partial repair of physical damage is necessary in order to recover data).
If you no longer need the failed media, we will destroy it at your request after completely erasing all data.
Data copied from your media in order to carry out the recovery process will be completely erased after you have confirmed the data delivered to you. Rest assured that we will retain no data from the media you supplied to us after completion of the recovery process.
